Crockett's Last Sunrise, Battle of the Alamo

Crockett fought during the 1836 Texan War of Independence against Mexico, with 180 Texans and US citizens, they held the old mission / fort of Alamo against a large number of Mexican troops. They held out for 11 days until the last survivors were overwhelmed, buying time to recruit the Texas army led by Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto.
