56th Fighter Group Symposium

The Yankee Air Force
is proud to announce a symposium featuring some of the greatest American Aces of World War II. These pilots flew with the legendary 56th Fighter Group, forever known as "Zemke's Wolfpack", and became the highest scoring fighter group in Air Force history.
The symposium is scheduled for Saturday, August 4th at the Yankee Air Force Museum at Willow Run Airport.

Col. Francis 'Gabby' Gabreski
28 victories in WW II
6 ½ victories in Korea
Lt General Gerry Johnson
16 ½ victories in WW II
Col. Walker 'Bud' Mahurin
19 Victories in WW II
3 ½ Victories in Korea
Canceled do to medical reasons
Squadron Leader Mike Gladych, Polish Air Force
scored 10 victories while flying as one of several Polish exchange pilots with the 56th, 17 total in WW II

The Symposium will be held as part of the "Fighter Days" fly-in and aerial demonstration that will occur on the weekend of 4 & 5August 2001. In addition to the symposium, the aces will be available to meet and greet the public in the museum at various times during the day.
Cost of Symposium Tickets: $50.00 Includes: 2 days admission to "Fighter Days", and the Symposium on Saturday Night.
