107th Fighter Squadron

From February 5, 1998 until March 12, 1998 over 250 volunteers from the 127th Wing deployed to Incirlik AB Turkey as the 107th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron. Their mission was to patrol the skies over Iraq with F-16C block 30 aircraft to enforce the No-Fly Zone as part of the United Nations imposed sanctions against Saddam Husseinis military regime,. During this period tensions escalated and war seemed inevitable. Finally, in early March
a last minute accord was reached and the conflict simmered down.
