Gettysburg - July 2, 1863, at the eastern edge of the Wheatfield Col. Strong Vincent, Commander of the Third Brigade, 1st Division, 5th Corps, Army of the Potomac, meets a courier from Corps Commander Maj. Gen. George Sykes and makes the decision to take his Brigake without direct orders to the hights of Little Round Top. Little Round Top can be seen in the background. In the right middleground of the image can be seen the officers of the Brigade including Col. Joshua Chamberiain and Col. James Race.
