![]() Wittmann's Tiger I in Villers-Bocage by Barry Spicer On the morning of Jun 13th, 1944, just north of the Norman village of Villers-Bocage, Tiger company commander Obstf Michael Wittmann, already a legend from the Easter Front, single-handedly took on a column of the British 7th Armoured Division, and literally destroyed it, so forestalling General Montgomery's planned unhinging of the Wehrmacht's Caen defense. Showing Wittmann's Tiger I, the artist, Barry Spicer depicts Wittmann, along with his trusty gunner Bobby Woll conferring prior to the famous attack. Although history is foggy as to whether Woll was with Wittmann at this time, or in command of another Tiger I, the artist takes his artistic liberty to depict the optimum image of histories greatest single tank duel of time. 650 S/N Prints, 65 Artist Proof and 30 Remarques Overall Size: 31" x 21" S/N Price: $130.00 [Order] [Checkout] Artist Proof Price: $175.00 [Order] [Checkout] Remarques Price: Sold Out Copyright ©2002 Military Art Gallery |
