The RAF Bomber Command Crewman was the final link in the intricate
chain of command that enabled the Royal Air Force to accomplish thousands
of strategic combat missions. All the planning and prepatative efforts
of hundreds of personnel rested in the hands of the combat crews of
the heavy bombers. Each crewman handled his individual feelings and
emotions in his own personal way as he went out to his respective hard
stand to proceed to the "target for tonight".
